Matthew Dorner
President
Hello everyone! My road to online learning began when I moved to Tucson in pursuit of a degree at the University of Arizona nearly 15 years ago. While in school, I decided to pivot toward a career as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Eleven years into that career, a growing family and life changes had me revisiting my long-term goals. Thanks to online learning, I was able to circle back to my original plans of higher education, even with a busy life. I’m now studying from Phoenix with a wife and two toddlers, while managing my new full time career in medical sales. As I finish a Business Administration degree in Accounting from Eller, I am excited to represent and speak on behalf of the Online and Distance population. As higher education continues to evolve and become more accessible, I am passionate about ensuring it also maintains a level of quality that matches an on-campus experience. Never hesitate to reach out!
Jasmine Williams
Executive Vice President
My name is Jasmine Williams, and I am honored to serve you as your Executive Vice President for the Associated Students of the University of Arizona Near You (ASUA-NY). I reside in a small city called Port Saint Lucie, Florida. I have worked as a Human Resources Clerk at one of Walmart's Distribution Centers for four years. As a woman of Black American Caribbean descent, My family has deeply embedded the values of hard work, honesty, respect for others, and community involvement. I love discovering new destinations, experiencing new activities, and fully engaging with diverse cultures. I am majoring in business administration and working towards a Bachelor of Science degree. I previously attended Florida Atlantic University and majored in theater to earn my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2015. Unfortunately, I did not complete my degree. After taking a break from college, I gained valuable work experience and obtained professional certificates from other universities. I have developed skills in leadership, time management, technology, problem-solving, supervising, delegating tasks, and communication. My primary objective for this role is to enhance awareness of the various opportunities our institution provides. I am committed to cultivating a strong bond between online education and campus presence.
Corinne Frazer
Administrative Vice President
Throughout my years of working on my degree I have had so many bumps in the road and being able to find the Arizona Online program has allowed me to finally finish my degree in Nutritional Science, Dietetic option. I love the fact that I can still work full time and be able to continue going to school. I’m super excited to be apart of ASUA-NY! I want to be able to help my fellow Online and Distant students to be able to have an open space to discuss and voice concerns they have and help them be able to build a community. I want to be able to guide and help students with their own paths to achieve their goals. WILDCAT students, I am here for you and will be on this journey with you through the good and bad. I will leave you with this quote: “If this is something you wanna do, and if this is something you gotta do, then you do it. Fighters fight.” – Rocky Balboa. GO WILDCATS!
Annie Custer
Staff Advisor
I am thrilled to serve as the advisor for this remarkable group of student government leaders. As an advocate for higher education and a believer in the power of student voice, I couldn't be more proud to support ASUA-NY's quest to create a vibrant and inclusive community. One of my greatest joys is witnessing the personal and academic growth of students throughout their time in student government. I am passionate about empowering our leaders to develop essential skills like leadership, communication, and problem-solving, which will serve them well beyond their college years. As an advisor, my primary goal is to be a dependable mentor and ally for each member of the ASUA-NY board. I believe in fostering an environment where ideas are celebrated, and every voice is heard and respected. Together, we will work to ensure that all students, regardless of their backgrounds or learning modalities, feel valued and supported during their college journey. Bear Down!
